Annual or short-lived perennial herbs bearing glandular hairs and sessile glands. Leaves alternate. Inflorescence terminal and axillary. Flowers bisexual or rarely unisexual, borne in loose cymes. Perianth segments 1-5. Stamens 1-5. Derivation of name: from the Greek dysphanes, meaning scarcely visible, referring to the very small flowers. Worldwide: 46 species, almost cosmopolitan DRC: 4 taxa. |
