Zimbabwe Tree Society of Zimbabwe Dedicated to the identification and recording of the woody plant flora of Zimbabwe.
It is an active Society which organises a regular program of outings (currently 3 per month to places reachable from Harare) with occasional longer visits to places further afield.
Zimbabwe Aloe, Cactus and Succulent Society of Zimbabwe This is another active Zimbabwean society which, through its journal Excelsa, has made a major contribution to the study of succulents.
Zimbabwe Biodiversity Foundation for Africa The Biodiversity Foundation for Africa which is based in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, was set up in 1992. It undertakes biological research into tropical African biodiversity, and seeks to make the resulting information widely accessible.
Zimbabwe Zambezi Society The Zambezi Society is the only conservation group devoted solely to looking after the Zambezi, the finest and wildest river in Africa.
South Africa Ispot Ispot was originally created in the UK by the Open University. Ispot Southern Africa is the regional version of the same project. It is an example of Citizen Science and enables users to submit images of wildlife for identification and provides a structure for users to identify the images of others. As at the end of 2013, 93,710 observations had been submitted to the site of which 60,076 were observations of plants.
South Africa Animal Demography Unit: Virtual Museum The Virtual Museum (VM) provides the platform for citizen scientists to contribute to biodiversity projects. Although most of the projects are zoological, two of them (orchids and trees) refer to plants.
South Africa Botanical Society of South Africa The Society is concerned with the study of the flora of South Africa. It publishes books on botanical topics and is actively involved in conservation and education.

Botanic Garden Meise

This is an internationally important Botanic Garden, situated just north of Brussels, in the centre of Belgium. It is also a centre for research on tropical and especially African plants.
