Description:
Large evergreen tree with a fluted trunk. Bark smooth, dark purple-brown, flaking to reveal a pattern of paler patches. Leaves alternate, oblong, 7-20 cm, shiny light green above, hairless; margin entire. Flowers small and inconspicuous, clustered on dwarf spur-branchlets, yellowish green. Fruit oblong, c. 2.5 cm, depressed at the apex around the remains of the style.
