Rhizome thick, ascending, forming a trunk of 40-60 cm. Fronds monomorphic, subcoriaceous. Stipe 30-40 cm long, purple, black at the top, shiny, grooved, smooth. Lamina bipinnate-bipinnatifid, deltoid in outline, 40-60 x 15-20 cm; apical pinna deltoid, deeply lobed, shortly decurrent; lateral pinnae 4-5 paires, basal pinna petiolate, basiscopically developed, deeply pinnately divided, basal segments free, lobed, other segments united by a large wing, middle pinnae shortly petiolate or subsessile, deeply pinnatly divided, apical deltoid, divided into round, oval , entire segments; rhachis blackish; costa black, shiny, often with short hairs; veinlets forming several rows of areols without included veinlets. Sori in several rows; mostly indusiate. |
