| Erect, rarely prostrate or climbing, herbs or subshrubs. Stipules present. Leaves 1- or 3-foliolate; leaflets often with small glands beneath. Flowers reflexed. Calyx 5-lobed, lobes equal or unequal, the upper free or sometimes partly fused. Corolla basically yellow. Ovary 2-ovulate. Pods up to 2 × as long as broad, oblong or elliptic, flattened, covered with long hairs or glabrescent. Seeds 2, ovoid or oblong; funicle inserted at one end of the linear hilum.
