Robust perennial herb to 1.5 m. tall. Flowers in dense spiciform racemes without discernable lateral branches. Stems often creeping, rooting in basal part, apical part erect, glabrous with glossy hairs at nodes. Calyx green or purplish. Corolla mauve to purple, upper lip often paler and lower darker towards base. |
