Shrub or small tree to up to 8.5(-15) m tall. Leaves petiolate; lamina 10-30 × 3-13 cm, elliptic to obovate, glabrous above, pubescent beneath; base cuneate; apex acuminate. Flowers strongly scented, solitary, penduluous. Calyx brown-pubescent. Corolla white, narrowly cylindric below, funnel-shaped above, up to 23 cm long. Fruits 3-7 cm in diameter, spherical, smooth or strongly 10-ribbed, brown-pubescent when young, becoming glabrous later, crowned by the persistent calyx |
